In 2025, the Agency for the Promotion of Private Investment (ProInversión) plans to award three projects in the Ica region linked to the Transport and Sanitation sectors that will represent an estimated investment of US$ 588 million through Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
In the “Regional Forum: Ica, Alliances and Challenges for its Competitive Development”, the agency presented a balance of the investments promoted in this region, as well as the projects that are in the portfolio and in the maturation stage aimed at reducing the infrastructure gap and improving productivity and competitiveness.
In 2025 it is expected to award, for example, the Longitudinal de la Sierra Section 4 for US$ 109 million (amount corresponds to Ica of the total of US$ 1542 million), Wastewater Treatment Plant of Chincha, another US$ 92 million, and the Road Corridor Bridge Los Maestros-Huaytara-Chincha Alta-San Clemente-Paracas, whose cost amounts to US$ 387 million.
Likewise, four other projects were identified for US$ 352.67 million that could be developed through PPP and Active Projects in Transport and Irrigation, such as the Provision of water for irrigation in the Ica valley (US$ 173.80 million), Interurban road transit service on the departmental road Pozo Santo – Comatrana-Ocucaje-Paracas (US$ 93.58 million), Water assurance of the Nazca river sub-basin (US$ 73.26 million) and the Land Terminal of Ica (US$ 12.03 million)
In the period 2023-2024, the agency awarded five projects in Ica through PPP linked to the New Port Terminal San Juan de Marcona (US$ 405 million) and electrical transmission projects and substations: New Hub Substation Poroma (First Stage) and Link 500 kV Hub Poroma-Colectora (US$ 126 million), the New Substation Marcona II and Link 138 kV Marcona II-San Isidro (Bella Unión)-Pampa (Chala) (100 million), the New Bicentennial Substation 500/220 kV (US$ 87 million) and the Expansion of Supply Capacity of the Ica Electric System (US$ 60 million).
Works for Taxes
On the other hand, regarding the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism, the agency confirmed that in 16 years 46 projects have been developed in Ica for S/ 1111 million related to transport, education, security, housing, and Urban development with participation from the Regional Government, 12 Municipalities, National University San Luis Gonzaga, two ministries, and 32 financing companies.
Currently, there is a portfolio of 10 projects for S/ 111 million, in education and fishing, whose holders are the Ministry of Education (Minedu), Ministry of Production (Produce), and National University San Luis Gonzaga of Ica.
